Epitaph

Robert Browning (1812–89)

Inscribed on a Rock above the Grave of Levi Lincoln Thaxter, April, 1885.

Life’s path I pace, couldst thou make weakness strong,
Help me with knowledge—for Life’s old.
        Death’s new!
