THE closing of an Autumn evening is like the running of a hound across the moor.
Night is a good herd: she brings all creatures home.
 
    Lie down with the lamb
      And rise with the bird,
 
From the time you see a harrow and a man behind it        5
Until you see stacks of turf and cocks of hay.
