MATILDA BARBARA BETHAM-EDWARDS, sister of Amelia B. Edwards, the Egyptologist, was born at Westerfield, near Ipswich, on the 4th of March, 1836. She published “Poems” (1885), besides several works of fiction. As a writer of hymns for children she was eminently successful. The following examples first appeared in Good Words for 1873.  1
