Beauty

Ruth Suckow

From “By Hill and Dale”

I WENT where pines grew;

Beauty I found in these,

In stars, and in the strange

Twisted boughs of trees.

I went where houses were;

Beauty I found then

In eyes, and in the strange

Twisted lives of men.
