From “Handful of Ashes”

TAKE away the magic
  You have put on me:
I am held by whispers—
  I, who would be free.

I who would be free and false,        5
  Why must I be true?
I fear to move, for hurting
  The clinging thoughts of you.

So the sunny branches
  Beckon me in vain:        10
I, beside the hearth-fire,
  Huddle to my pain.
