‘I have bought Five Yoke of Oxen’
Richard Crashaw (G.) (c. 1613–1649)

LUKE XIV. 19.

I CALL thee to His supper,
  for so the Master spake:
Thou say’st “No,” pretending
  thou must thy oxen take.

Farewell, O thou unworthy,        5
  and wholly useless guest;
Thy oxen for the Supper
  in truth were better prest.
