PLURAL NOUN:(used with a sing. or pl. verb) A confection consisting of bits of dough cooked briefly in a mixture of honey, brown sugar, and nuts, then cooled and rolled into balls.
ETYMOLOGY:Yiddish teyglekh, from teygl, diminutive of teyg, dough, from Middle High German teig, from Old High German teic. See dheigh- in Appendix I.
