ETYMOLOGY:Mishnaic Hebrew mazzl ôb, good luck : mazzl, constellation, destiny (ultimately from Akkadian manzaltu, mazzaztum, position of a star, from izuzzu, to stand; see w1 in Appendix II) + ôb, good; see yb in Appendix II.
