DEFINITION:Central Semitic (?), to weep, yearn. Gehenna, from Hebrew (ben) hinnm, valley of (the son of) Hinnom, from hinnm, a man's name (etymology uncertain; perhaps akin to Arabic hanna, to weep, yearn + nominal ending -m).
