Forming an essential element, as arising from the basic structure of an individual: built-in, congenital, connatural, constitutional, elemental, inborn, inbred, indigenous, indwelling, ingrained, inherent, innate, intrinsic, native. See BE, NATIVE, START. 3. Unconstrained by rigid standards or ceremony: casual, easy, easygoing, informal, relaxed, spontaneous, unceremonious, unrestrained. Informal : laid-back. See PLAIN, TIGHTEN. 4. Devoid of any hypocrisy or pretense: genuine, heartfelt, hearty, honest, real, sincere, true, unaffected, unfeigned, unmannered. See TRUE. 5.
