NOUN:1. A troubled or anxious state of mind: angst, anxiety, anxiousness, care, disquiet, disquietude, distress, nervousness, solicitude, unease, uneasiness, worry. See FEELINGS. 2. Something that concerns or involves one personally: affair, business, lookout. See RELEVANT. 3. A cause of distress or anxiety: care, trouble, worry. See CONCERN. 4. A commercial organization: business, company, corporation, enterprise, establishment, firm2, house. Informal : outfit. See GROUP. 5. Curiosity about or attention to someone or something: concernment, interest, interestedness, regard. See CONCERN. 6. Thoughtful attention: attentiveness, consideration, regard, solicitude, thoughtfulness. See ATTITUDE, CONCERN, KIND, TREAT WELL. 7. A small specialized mechanical device: contraption, contrivance, gadget, gimmick, jigger, thing. Informal : doodad, doohickey, widget. Slang : gizmo. See MACHINE. 8. The quality or state of being important: concernment, consequence, import, importance, moment, significance, significancy, weight, weightiness. See IMPORTANT.
