Of or relating to early stages in the evolution of human culture: primeval. See START. 6. Lacking expert, careful craftsmanship: crude, raw, rough, rude, unpolished. See GOOD. 7. Not civilized: barbarian, barbaric, barbarous, rude, savage, uncivilized, uncultivated, uncultured, wild. Archaic : uncivil. See CULTURE, WILD.
