ADJECTIVE:1. Adhering firmly and devotedly, as to a person, a cause, or a duty: allegiant, constant, faithful, fast, firm1, liege, loyal, staunch, true. See CONTINUE, TRUST. 2. Indicating or possessing determination, resolution, or persistence: constant, determined, firm1, resolute, steady, stiff, tough, unbending, uncompromising, unflinching, unwavering, unyielding. See PURPOSE. 3. Firmly in position: fixed, immobile, immovable, stationary, steady, unmovable, unmoving. See MOVE. 4. Consistently reliable, especially because of resistance to outside pressures: stable, steady, steady-going. See CONTINUE.
