Black, Hugh
 
 
1868–1953, Scottish-American theologian and author. After serving as a pastor in Paisley and Edinburgh, he emigrated to the United States in 1906 to begin a professorship of practical theology at Union Theological Seminary, New York City. His books include Culture and Restraint (1900), Christ’s Service of Love (1907), The New World (1915), The Adventure of Being Man (1929), and Christ or Caesar (1938).
