Capito, Wolfgang Fabricius
(kp´t, Ger. vôlf´gäng fäbr´tsys kä´pt) (KEY) , 14781541, German Protestant reformer, whose original family name was Köpfel. As a well-known humanist, he brought about communication between Erasmus and Luther. Capito worked with Martin Bucer in an attempt to unify the Evangelical churches of Germany, France, and Switzerland.
