(fr ´dr kst d) (KEY) , town (2000 pop. 732), historically the chief port and commercial center of St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands; it has been replaced by Christiansted. Sugar provided the principal export until the industry was terminated. Since that time, the town has attempted to convert to tourism, with some success. |
