or Hazaribag (hzä´rbäg´´) (KEY) , town (1991 pop. 97,824), Jharkhand state, E central India. Located on the Chota Nagpur plateau, 2,000 ft (610 m) above sea level, the town is a district administrative center and a market for rice, corn, and mustard.
