Iksan
 
 
(k´sän´) (KEY) , city (1995 pop. 322,749), NW North Jeolla (Cholla) prov., South Korea, on the Mangyeong and Geum rivers. A rail and highway transportation hub, the city lies on a plain where grains, fruits, and vegetables are grown. The knitwear, precious metals, and jewelry industries are important. Iksan was formed by the merger of the city of Iri with Iksan county in 1995.
