(mär´´ätsl´) (KEY) , town, Styria prov., E central Austria. It is a winter and summer resort. Chiefly noted as a place of pilgrimage, it is famous for its 12th-century wood carving of the Virgin and Child, which draws thousands of pilgrims annually.
