(noi´shtät än dr vn´shträs) (KEY) , city (1994 pop. 53,782), Rhineland-Palatinate, SW Germany; chartered 1275. It is the center of the Rhenish Palatinate wine trade; manufactures include metal products, paper, and processed foods. The city is also a tourist center. The city is also known as Neustadt an der Haardt.
