(pôräNtrü´) (KEY) , Ger. Pruntrut, town, Jura canton, NW Switzerland, in the Jura Mts. It is an old watchmaking center; knitted goods and shoes are also made. It was the residence (1528–1792) of the prince-bishops of Basel.
