QUOTATION:You work hard to be good and then to be great, but when you’re great, you don’t just want to be good.
ATTRIBUTION:Pat Bradley (b. 1951), U.S. golfer. As quoted in the New York Times, sect. 8, p. 1, by Nancy Lopez (July 11, 1993).

Lopez (b. 1957), a Hall of Fame golfer, was quoting Bradley in an attempt to explain her declining patience and enthusiasm for her sport. Lopez’s three children, ranging in age from twenty months to nine years, were accompanying her on the Ladies’ Professional Golf Association Tour.
