ATTRIBUTION:Rupert Brooke (1887–1915), British poet. New Numbers, no. 4 (1914). The Soldier, 1914 and Other Poems (1915).

Brooke, who died of blood-poisoning while serving during World War I, is buried on the island of Skyros, Greece.
