MUSLIM, MOHAMMEDAN, MOSLEM, MUHAMMADAN (adjs., nn.)

A Muslim (variously pronounced, but most commonly MUHZ-luhm, MUHZ-lim, or MUZ-lim) is an adherent of Islam. Moslem (MAHZ-luhm or MAHS-luhm) is a variant of Muslim. Muhammadan and Mohammedan are based on the name of the prophet Mohammed, and both are considered offensive. Muslim, as both noun and adjective, seems to be the most acceptable to all concerned.  1
