Charles City, county (203 sq mi/526 sq km; 1990 pop. 6,282), E Va.;  Charles City; 37°21'N 77°03'W. In Tidewater region, bounded S by James R., N and E by Chickahominy R., which enters James R. in SE corner. Agr. (hay, barley, wheat, corn, soybeans; poultry, cattle); timber. Harrison L. Natl. Fish Hatchery in SW. Many historic estates, including Westover, Berkeley (birthplace of Benjamin Harrison and William Henry Harrison), Evelynton, and Shirley.
