Charles Mix, county (1,150 sq mi/2,979 sq km; 1990 pop. 9,131), S S.Dak., on Nebr. line; Lake Andes. Agr. area watered by Choteau and Platte creeks and bounded SW by Missouri R. Part of Choteau Creek and branch form E boundary in Bon Homme co. L. Frances Case Reservoir forms Nebr. boundary in S. Corn, wheat, soybeans, sorghum, hay; cattle, hogs, poultry; dairy prods. L. Andes Reservoir and Natl. Wildlife Refuge in E center. Yankton Indian Reservation in all of SE 1/2 of county (hq. at Marty in S); Yankton Treaty Monument in SE.
