| Nicaro (nee-KAHR-o), town, Holguín prov., E Cuba, on Levisa Bay (Atlantic Ocean), at base of small Lengua de Pájaro peninsula, 6 mi/9.7 km E of Mayarí; 20°43'N 75°32'W. Refining of nickel oxide, which is mined nearby (S) at foot of Sierra del Cristal. Refining operations were started in 1943. |
