Corydon (KAWR-uh-duhn), town (1990 pop. 2,661), Harrison co., S Ind., on Indian Creek, and 17 mi/27 km WSW of New Albany; 38°13'N 86°08'W. Center of fruit, grain, dairy, and poultry area; lumber milling; mfg. of furniture; glass; electrical prods., fabricated metal prods., automotive parts, poultry prods.; limestone quarries; timber. Wyandotte Cave is nearby. Laid out 1808; was territorial capital during 18131816, and capital of Ind. until 1825. Ind.s first state capital.
