George, county (483 sq mi/1,251 sq km; 1990 pop. 16,673), SE Miss.; Lucedale; 30°52'N 88°38'W. Bordered E by Ala., W by De Soto Natl. Forest; drained by Pascagoula (formed by joining of Leaf and Chickasawhay rivers in NW) and Escatawpa rivers and Black and Red creeks. Agr. (vegetables, corn; timber). Part of Pascagoula R. Wildlife Management Area in S. Formed 1910.
