Gregg, county (276 sq mi/715 sq km; 1990 pop. 104,948), E Texas; Longview; 32°28'N 94°48'W. Drained by Sabine R. (forms part of E boundary). In huge E Texas oil field (discovered 1930); a leading oil-producing co. of Texas. Also natural gas, sand and gravel, clay; timber; agr. (livestock); racehorses. Longview, Kilgore, Gladewater are industrial centers. L. Cherokee reservoir on S boundary. Formed 1873.
