Cabell (KAB-uhl), county (288 sq mi/746 sq km; 1990 pop. 96,827), W W.Va.; Huntington, state’s second largest city (since 1980); 38°25'N 82°14'W. Bounded NW by Ohio R. (Ohio state line); drained by Guyandotte and Mud rivers. Agr. (corn, tobacco, alfalfa, nursery crops, hay); cattle; poultry. Natural gas and oil wells, bituminous-coal mining. Mfg. at Huntington, Culloden, Milton, and Barboursville. Part of Beech Fork State Park in SW; Greenbottom Wildlife Management Area. Formed 1809.
