| Candlewood, Lake, reservoir (8.4 sq mi/21.8 sq km), Litchfield and Fairfield cos., W Conn., on Rocky R., 1 mi/1.6 km S of its junction with Housatonic R., extending 10 mi/16 km N of Danbury (at S end), 10 mi/16 km long, with 2 parallel arms extending 5 mi/8 km, shoreline c.65 mi/105 km long; 41°34'N 73°26'W. Formed by Candlewood Dam. Recreation. Candlewood Shores on SE shore, W shore developments are Candlewood Isle, Candlewood Knolls, and Knollcrest. |
