De Land (dee LAND), resort city (9 sq mi/23.3 sq km; 1990 pop. 16,491), Volusia co., E central Fla., 20 mi/32 km SW of Daytona Beach; 29°02'N 81°17'W. It has dairies, citrus packing plants, and lumber mills. Other prods. are electronic equip., apparel, and medical supplies. De Land is the seat of Stetson Univ.
