Pandects of Justin’ian (The),
 
found at Amalfi (1137), gave a spur to the study of civil law which changed the whole literary and legal aspect of Europe. The word means much the same as “cyclopædia.” (Greek, pan, everything; dech’-omai, I receive.)   1
