wife of Antig’onus, a Sicilian nobleman, takes charge of Queen Hermi’one, when unjustly sent to prison by her jealous husband, and after a time presents her again to Leontes as a statue “by that rare Italian master, Julio Romano.” (Shakespeare: Winter’s Tale.)   1
