Beaumontague [pronounce bo-montaig].
Bad work, especially ill-fitting carpenters work; literary padding; paste and scissors literature; so called from putty used by carpenters, etc., for filling up cracks and bad joinery. German, teig, dough; and Emile Beaumont, the geologist (17981851), who also gives his name to Beaumontite.
