Soul and Spirit.
eta psiϕchieta (the soul) contains the passions and desires, which animals have in common with man. tauo pinuεϕmualpha (the spirit) is the highest and distinctive part of man. In 1 Thess. Paul says, “I pray God you whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (See also Heb. iv. 12; 1 Cor. ii. 14 and 15; xv. 45, 46.)   1
