Knight of the Woful Countenance. The title given by Sancho Panza to Don Quixote. (Bk. iii. chap. &vmacr;.) After his challenge of the two royal lions (pt. ii. bk. i. chap. xvii.), the adventurer called himself Knight of the Lions.
