(b. 1803, d. 1884). “The Art of Dining” (1852); “Biographical and Critical Essays” (1858); “The Letters and Remains of Mrs. Piozzi” (1861); “Selections from the Diary of a Lady of Quality” (1864); “Goethe, a Biographical Sketch” (1877); “Short Rules of Modern Whist” (1878); “Sketches of Eminent Statesmen and Writers” (1880). He also translated Goethe’s “Faust” (1883), edited the Law Magazine, and contributed constantly to the Edinburgh and Quarterly Reviews. See his “Correspondence” (1886).   1
