A sea nymph and companion of Venus. (Virgil: Georgic, iv. 338; and again, Æneid, v. 826.) The word means “wave-receiving.”   1
   The Garden of Cymod’oce. Sark, one of the Channel islands. It is the title of a poem by Swinburne, 1880.   2
