1 Module 3 Case Study Chiao Chien manages lT security for a local school. Having this responsibility is very critical in the school system because he has to manage so many computers and devices. It is his job to prevent virus attacks and to make sure no one can download any malicious data. He has a good budget for data security assets. Currently he has a firewall installed on every device and he also has all of the extra ports blocked. Chiao may want to take a few more security precautions due to the amount of risk that is associated with all of these devices. Keeping the operating system, applications, and security software up to date will add additional security coverage. Having these Updates often are important because they contain important security patches. It is also important to implement some sort of training on safe internet browsing, common cybersecurity threats, and online fraud would be important so these actions can be avoided. Teaching staff and students can help everyone with being cautious and vigilant when interacting with these malicious websites, emails, and text messages. With Chiao having these security precautions set in place, it ensures that the devices are safe from any malicious software and virus attacks. It is important to teach staff and students on various internet threats so they can all be safe with their data. Chiao can continue to keep the firewalls and antivirus installed as that helps tremendously against any attacks.
