Making several drafts and outlines are very helpful to organize my paper. Before this course, I like to do free write. I just start writing, and add in information while editing. However, I start to create outlines for my writing. I found that creating an outline can help me organize my writing process and provides a full overview of my paper. For me, creating an outline after first draft is more helpful than start with an outline. Below is a picture of my AP outline. I created this outline after my first AP draft.
Outlines allow the student to be organized, and allows them to quickly identify when they are just rambling to make word count, or they are off topic. Once the outline is complete the only thing left that needs to be started is the thesis statement, and after all these things are considered I would say the student is off to a great start on this
Initially, a writer should do an outline before starting any essay. An outline can help to organize his or her main points in order to build an introduction, body and conclusion. This method of pre writing was something that I had never been exposed to prior to receiving an example outline from Professor Vilceus. By studying the example, I went from zero knowledge about an outline to creating ones that made arranging essay material uncomplicated.
Taking a look back at my past writing assignments and drafts for each one, I can clearly see the improvement in how they are organized. My first draft for writing assignment 1 was basically one long paragraph. I clearly remember Mr. Bogdaniec’s advice on how to separate and create individual paragraphs that only contain one topic or main idea. Also with his handouts on writing an introductory paragraph and how to write the conclusion paragraph were extremely helpful in putting together my first writing assignment in this class. I followed the steps on brainstorming and then steps for creating a plot, and didn’t feel overwhelmed and confused as I had
Using an outline really helped me with my writing. Having an outline there next to me, it help me to be able to go back and look to see if I forgot any main points. I actually used the outline because it helped me write strong paragraphs. Doing this I-Search paper, helped me to know how to evaluate websites and maybe some information. What I learned from this I-Search paper, was about the Warsaw Concentration Camp and websites I
1.It is best to underline the areas of the report that the client might not understand.
Until World War II it was mixture of chicle (sap from the sapodilla tree) and other kinds of flavor (April 1, 1000- What is chewing gum made of?)
In high school, there were three different types of writing assignments we had to complete. The first was analyzing an unseen text, the second was writing an essay based on the theme of two plays, and the last was a creative writing task. For each of them, I took a different approach for coming up with the ideas I was going to write about. The ideas came from research about the topics given, or general themes looked at during class. However, for any writing assignment I would always create an outline first, whether it was an in class essay or an essay written at home. If it was an essay that was written over time, our teacher required us to hand in drafts, and would set aside class time to peer edit. Most of the time the feedback given was
You need to prepare a research outline. This should keep you focused and ensure all of the requirements are being met.
Hook: (grabs readers’ attention; several sentences long) There are many types of spirits some want to harm and some just need help or want to talk. This will help define and determine which spirit the person is encountering.
When I write an assignment, three things are constant; the technology I use (smartphone and laptop computer), the beverage I drink (hot chocolate ), and the location I do my writing (the living room in my house). I am using the final assignment for the course “Introduction to Business” to describe my writing process. In this paper I needed to discuss every aspect of a product, from the manufacturing to the purchase of the final product by the customer.
First of all, you should know how big of a problem these outlines actually are. They limit creativity, and don't allow students to develop their own writing style. For students that are might consider themselves "good" writers, these outlines don't allow them to showcase everything that they know. These outlines also change the way the students organize their thoughts, which will in turn cause the students to write awful papers.
While writing your outline make sure that all of your steps and/or points are in chronological order. This will help your reader to track where you are. Also make sure that you stay on topic with what your are talking about.
after choosing a interested topic, I spend roughly twenty minutes for prewriting stage. Then, I refresh my brain by standing up, walking around or just closing my eyes and listening to relaxing instrumental music for thirty minutes. Later on when I come back to build my outline with fresher mind, I can carefully select the supportive ideas and get rid of the one which off the topic. I spend a lot of time to organize the ideas for my outline because having a well-arranged outline helps me stay focus on my assignment. The following stage is writing. I start to write after I left the outline aside for hours or a day (depending on how hard my assignment is). After that, I read my essay verbally to make sure that my papers have coherency and smooth
Outlining to me is the most important and helpful stage of the writing process. By conducting an outline, I am able to organize the way I want my paper to read. Outlining also helps me see which areas I need to add more detail to. I do not think I omitted anything. Although I did need to go back and write out complete topic sentences. I had just listed the main points instead of writing out complete sentences. I think I did forget to add rebuttals to my counter arguments. I left this out for now because I plan to use the main points in my paper to address the counter arguments. I did add more sources to my outline because I came across some things that I thought would help back up the main points. I really feel outlining is helpful when writing
Also I have learned that by doing the draft step by step as in introduction, body, and conclusion also helped me get through the process of writing the draft. Not doing all the draft at once really helped because if did not feel the pressure of having to finish it all together. First, I would do the introduction and then maybe thirty or sixty minutes later, I would do the body, then after another short brake, I would do the conclusion. This has helped a lot with my draft because between those breaks I would think of something else to include in the paper. As well as giving my self time to think this way of drafting gave me an opportunity to check me paper more thoroughly because I would check each section individually and that way I found mistakes I would have missed before.
