In this essay I will be discussing the pros and cons of fast foods. Now a day every body will recognize the golden arches of McDonalds, it is hard not to. McDonalds has restaurants everywhere, beside major roads and in almost every high street. Their commercials are on television at least once a day. They became popular within a couple of years. Teenagers especially like McDonalds because of the relaxed atmosphere, cheap prizes and the fact that all over the world you know what you are buying. Mostly the animals are living in bad conditions. Chickens get born with foot disorders. But then again I guess that the animals the produce the meat for the top class restaurants suffer the same.
The fast food industry advertises with the target of children. With there freebies and bright adverts the get children to make their parents take them to McDonalds. They manipulate the easiest target. Children will moan and whine until they go to McDonalds. If health stores had the money to advertise then I am sure that they too would be popular. Just as it is now health shops are rather expensive and have a major “hippy” label. If the prices would go down and the public realized what was better for them, the popularity of the stores would increase.
I don’t understand who decides what is popular or not. I think that people are just like blind dummies that just follow the majority, being different is just not accepted by society
After taking a survey in the class it turned out that eleven people out of fifteen went to McDonalds in the last seven days at least once. I think that the reason that McDonalds is so popular is because McDonalds is an American way of life, and by eating it you are buying into the American life style. America has always dominated trends, not only in eating habits but also in fashion and Americans mostly dominate the music charts.
Personally I like eating at McDonalds, but it is not like I have to eat there because my whole class eats there. I
Fast food has turned into a genuine fundamental of our everyday life and made a religion of establishments that reaches out to the millions of Americans across the country. The Fast Food industry in a few eyes has been one of the sharpest developments this world has seen. They 're everywhere! McDonald 's hamburgers can be purchased in cities and suburbs, on riverfronts, in college football stadiums and in discount stores. There are fast food restaurants at most major road intersections, and billions of dollars are spent annually to advertise everything from fast food frozen yogurt to kid 's meals. Grocery stores have even gotten into the act with their own versions of fast food restaurants. Families with sick children can stay in Ronald McDonald houses located close to the hospital where the children are receiving treatment, and businesses routinely come to the aid of disaster victims.
What do you typically order when dining at McDonald’s or Wendy’s? When I am having a meal from either place, my favorite choice is a fried chicken sandwich with lettuce, tomato, bacon and extra mayo. Sometimes, I may make it a combo and enjoy the greasy, salty french fries and an ice cold soft drink. Most of their customers often purchase the unhealthiest options because they feel as if that is what fast food is all about, right? Fortunately, it does not have to be that way. Fast food can be convenient and nutritious. Wendy’s and McDonald’s are both fast food restaurants, so they are alike in many
Unlimited, endless, fast food choices, and yet there are two that stand out above the rest. McDonald’s and Burger King are the two biggest burger fast food chains in the world. So let me ask you this, who has a better menu? Who’s Cheaper? And which one is healthier? This debate will once and for all come to an end, once all of these points have been met throughout my paper. McDonald’s vs. Burger King has been a long running argument. You will finally come to realize that McDonald’s is the better choice for you.
On McDonalds For my business course, I have been asked to prepare a report for a business at work. I could choose any business to investigate. I decided to do McDonalds because it is globally recognised and of its size. Also because it is a franchise I thought that it would be interesting to see how a franchise operated.
Maize South Middle School should not serve fast food because unhealthy, expensive, and takes time. It is unhealthy because it could cause cancer, it could rotten the students teeth, and it could starve the students. It’s expensive because it is a lot of money, they have to save a lot of money, and the teachers won’t get a lot of money. Also it takes time because it will take a lot of time to get the food, they might not have it ready for the students, and they might have to take time out of anything to get food. To conclude, fast food served in our school isn’t

Their food seems to be the same, but it isn’t. On one hand, McDonald’s hamburger weighs less and has only 9g of total fat, while Burger King’s hamburger has 12g and they have a saltier taste. On the other hand, Burger King’s beef are 100% pure and they flame-boils their burgers, while McDonald’s fries their beef. That’s why they taste different. Mr. George Ritzer explain that Mcdonaldization can be avoided, he gave us good explanation the only time he goes to McDonalds is to use the bathroom he also mentioned that if you have to take your kids there blind fold them something that might not sit too well with the American people . But his theory and concept states that it’s very hard to avoid Mcdonaldization because it has taken over the American society and has become part of our life’s simply what he calls the “Iron Cage” (http://www.learningace.com)
George Ritzer describes McDonaldization as “the process by which the principles of the fast-food restaurant are coming to dominate more and more sectors of American society as well as the rest of the world”. McDonaldization is the idea that our society is becoming more efficient and more fast paced. Rational systems can be defined as “unreasonable, dehumanizing systems that deny the humanity, the human reason, of the people who work within them or are served by them”.1 Today there are many types of businesses that are increasingly adapting the same values and principles of the fast-food industry to their needs. Rational systems are dehumanizing our society and seem to be even more irrational than convenient. “Almost every aspect of
As of now in the United States there are 22 fast food franchises. McDonalds was the first franchise to open in 1940 and since then they have been the leading and most successful franchise in America (“The Raw Prawn” n.p.). Other franchises include: Burger King, KFC, Wendy’s, Arby’s, and Taco Bell. Each of which target young students and children. Most of them have a value menu where items to purchase are cheap and tasty but very unhealthy. Some fast food restaurants provide a toy for children with their meal which attract them to come again and again ( “Eating Yourself to Death” n.p.). In addition, some restaurants contain an indoor play ground which attracts small children even more. The fast food industry mainly brings customers for their tasty food and simple convenience, they attach a drive thru to their building making it faster for customers to purchase and collect their food which is also less time consuming. Recently in the past few years, fast food franchises have begun to change their restaurant and attempt to become healthier as a whole, in some fast food restaurants they have a nutritional menu to choose from which generally contain healthier food compared to the regular menu (“The Raw Prawn” n.p.).
McDonald's is the world’s leading food service retailer with more than 30,000 local restaurants in 121 countries serving 45 million customers each day.
McDonalds is one of the largest food chains globally and in the U.S. It has one of the most recognized symbols with the golden arches. There are more than 34,000 local McDonalds around the world and they serve approximately 69 million people in 118 countries every single day. They also spend about two billion dollars on advertisements each year. The ethical issue that I want to address in this essay is whether or not McDonalds is ethical for advertising and selling obese and unhealthy foods to its customers. I believe it is important to explore this organization because McDonalds is one of the largest and most well-known food chains around the world. It is important to know that an organization as successful and large as them is also
The McDonalds Corporation’s strong internal workings also serve as benefits. In 2005, Fortune Magazine listed McDonald's as the "Best Place to Work for Minorities." McDonalds also invests more than $1 billion annually in training its staff, and every year more than 250,000 employees graduate from McDonald's specialized training facility called Hamburger University [4]. McDonalds also offers scholarships and opportunities to earn college credits for their employees who are still in school [5]. Internally McDonalds also has high standards for food safety regulations. While this might not be more to avoid lawsuits than to take care of their customers, McDonalds claims to go above and beyond national regulation to bring its customers a clean and health dining experience [5].
