John Callender (1706–1748)

Callender, John. An American historian; born in Boston, 1706; died in Newport, RI, Jan. 26, 1748. He collected many valuable papers relating to the Baptists in America; and published ‘A Centennial Discourse on the Civil and Religious Affairs of the Colony of Rhode Island’ (1739), which was the only history of that State for more than a century.
