Chambray, Georges, Marquis de (sho
-brā’). A French soldier and military writer; born in Paris, 1783; died in 1848. He served in the Napoleonic wars, was in the fatal Russian campaign, and during his active service saw much fighting. ‘The History of the Expedition to Russia in 1812’ is widely known.
