Frederick Chamier (1796–1870)
Chamier, Frederick. An English novelist; born in London in 1796; died at Liverpool (?), Oct. 1870. He was a naval officer. He wrote ‘Ben Brace’; ‘Tom Bowline’; ‘Jack Adams’; ‘The Arethusa’; and other once popular sea tales, now neglected. He employs the methods of Marryat.
