Cheney, John Vance. An American writer of prose and verse; born in Groveland, NY, Dec. 29, 1848; died in 1922. Is author of ‘The Old Doctor’ (1885); ‘Thistle Drift,’ poems (1887); a volume of essays; ‘Lyrics’ (1901); and several other volumes of poetry.
