George Hunt Clark (1809–1881)

Clark, George Hunt. An American poet; born in Northampton, MA, 1809; died in Hartford, CT, Aug. 20, 1881. He was a frequent contributor to Putnam’s, Knickerbocker, and other journals. His published poems include: ‘Now and Then’; ‘The News’; and a collection of humorous and sentimental pieces entitled: ‘Undertow of a Trade-Wind Surf.’
