Charles Powell Clinch (1797–1880)

Clinch, Charles Powell. An American poet and play-writer; born in New York City, Oct. 20, 1797; died there, Dec. 16, 1880. He was an active journalist for many years. Among his plays are: ‘The Spy’; ‘The Expelled Collegiates’; and ‘The First of May.’
