Joseph Conrad (1857–1924)

Conrad, Joseph. An English author and master in the merchant service; born in the Ukraine, of Polish parentage, Dec. 1857; died in 1924. Among his works are: ‘Almayer’s Folly’ (1895); ‘An Outcast of the Island’ (1896); ‘The Nigger of the Narcissus’ (1898); ‘Tales of Unrest’ (1900); ‘Lord Jim’ (1900); ‘Youth and Other Tales’ (1902); ‘Romance’ (1902); ‘The Shadow Line’ (See Critical and Biographical Introduction).
